Work hour: 37.5 hours/week

Pay Rate: £50-60/hour inside IR 35

Randstad Sourceright, a leading provider of RPO & MSP Recruitment Services are currently recruiting for a Tech Author on behalf of a well known business that specialises in Energy Technology.

 

Job Purpose

You will play a crucial role to provide support to the Lincoln M&U and Spare Parts business by the production of "Work Packs", "Operating and Maintenance Manual supplements", "Operating and Maintenance Manual amendments" and other relevant documentation.

The role and responsibilities

  • Produce Workpacks - The workpacks are required by service engineering personnel as they contain the instructions required to complete retrofit projects at customer site installations.
  • Produce Operating and Maintenance Manual Supplements - The supplements are required by the customer as they contain the operating and maintenance data required to operate and maintain their turbines after a retrofit project has been installed at a customer site installation. 
  • Produce Operating and Maintenance Manual amendments - The amendments are required by the customer as they contain the operating and maintenance data required to operate and maintain their turbines after a retrofit project has been installed at a customer site installation. 
  • Produce estimate data for tender production. Data is used to calculate the cost and resources required to complete a proposed project.

 

To be considered, here are skills and experience that you need to have:

  • Technical Author experience related to turbine operation and maintenance
  • Desktop publishing skills for the following applications - Interleaf, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Visio, Adobe Acrobat, Team Center Visualisation and Unigraphics NX
  • Data compression techniques, CDROM production techniques
  • Able to read and understand Engineering drawings. 
  • Printing skills, document assembly and distribution skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
