Location: Warwick - hybrid
Hybrid: 2 days a week in the office, more initially whilst training, and 3 days WFH

Travel: there will be some business travel - 10-15% of the time

Contract length: there are 2 roles available with different durations;
one is for 6 months - long term rolling contract (probably up to 2 years)
the other is for 3 months - for maternity leave cover

Rate: up to £25ph max PAYE - Inside IR35 


Randstad Sourceright, a leading provider of RPO & MSP Recruitment Services is currently recruiting for a Material Resource Planning Controller to work for a global leader in energy technology.

This job is within the Supply Chain department, in the Gas Services part of the business.
The products they manage are gas turbines, to create electricity or compress gas.  

They also drive delivery of spare parts, which need to be delivered on time. 

Overview: 

You will mainly be managing vendors, external suppliers and make sure everything gets delivered on time. 

Vendors are local and some are overseas, so some business travel involved - about 10-15% of the role will involve travel.  

You will be leading vendor meetings - driving discussion with vendors, if any issues, finding solutions, solving problems. 

Key importance is to be a good communicator to build relationships with vendors.

Work using SAP daily - update data delivery dates, align orders, keep everything up to date. 

 

The Role:

Working in their Aero Derivative Gas Turbine business as a Material Resource Planning (MRP) Controller. You’ll build, maintain and communicate detailed delivery plans for specific part orders within their supply chain, which are commitment accepted to enable the master production plan to be achieved.
You’ll also provide the Supply Chain Management Team (SCMT), with the implications of the delivery schedules ability to meet customer and business requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • To respond to demand changes by providing the Regional Purchase Manager with the implications of meeting customer requirements in line with the company Commitment Acceptance (Sales & Operations Planning) process;
  • To ensure the maintenance of component planning both Master and Multifaceted data, that will enable cascade of demand through the supply chain resulting in a committed plan;
  • To plan and manage stock across the supply chain, ensuring levels specified are maintained and used in the appropriate order and time frame;
  • To ensure specified supplier delivery commitments are reflected in SAP, respond to supplier enquiries and handle adherence of schedule lines (Exception Messages) to ensure delivery to plan, including new parts introduction in line with all the relevant processes including use of the Supply Chain pro-forma;
  • To be process compliant through the use of company standard systems, processes and reports to resolve potential delivery hazards;
  • To be the primary interface and lead operational relationships with suppliers to co-ordinate all improvement activity associated with planning, control, inventory, delivery and lead time;
  • To lead business reviews with their suppliers ensuring that both the suppliers and R-R requirements are being met, considering the impact to Quality, Cost and Delivery on the SCMT;
  • To manage and coordinate delivery issues, reporting shortages and recovery programmes to meet the plan. Manage the impact and raise issues as the need arises;
  • As part of the Business Reviews, understand Load and Capacity constraints within a supplier that may impact performance and delivery;

 

Key Skills and experience required:

  • Key importance is to be a good communicator
  • You’ll have working experience in Engineering, Manufacturing, Purchasing or a Logistics field and a proven understanding of production planning and controls
  • Understanding of the requirements of the quality system, inventory control and IT systems
  • You must be an excellent communicator that is robust in their approach along with problem solving and proactive skills
  • You’ll takes ownership for their own development
  • You’ll take care of internal partners & Customers
  • You’ll have a solid understanding of SAP or similar ERP systems

 

Essential Experience:

  • Previous relevant experience i.e. material resource control, expediting, or supply chain, 
  • Must have experience of using SAP (without SAP you’ll need previous experience in Oil & Gas) 

 

Desirable experience:

  • Oil & Gas industry experience would be a bonus, though other industries are acceptable
