Shift Pattern: 4 days on site Monday - Friday

Pay Rate: £30 - £40 per hour Inside IR35

Randstad Sourceright, a leading provider of RPO & MSP Recruitment Services are currently recruiting for a Project Buyer on behalf of a global company in the renewable energy industry. This role is an initial 6 month contract but has the potential to extend for up to 12/ 18 Months. You will be required to work 4 days onsite and 1 day remotely.

The successful Project Buyer will join the team in Newcastle of 12 Buyers and will sit alongside a smaller sub team of 4. The successful candidate will have a strong blend of technical and commercial acumen and the ability to manage internal and external stakeholders within challenging deadlines. Experience working in a manufacturing environment with fabricated an/or machined parts would be preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • Project procurement of key materials, products and services
  • Day to day management and execution of open purchase orders including expediting of hardware & software deliverables with a particular focus on quality documentation and planning 
  • Comply with Procurement policies and Strategic Procurement initiatives, in-line with business requirements and strategies.
  • Managing procurement documentation 
  • Working on high level Engineering/ Manufacturing projects 
  • Working on smaller projects with suppliers 
  • Senior stakeholder management

 

 Key Skills / Experience Required:

 

  • Mechanical Engineering background - A Quality background is desirable, where you have managed documentation/ paperwork
  • Experience in Power Generation
  • Experience and understanding of core project procurement activities, ideally in an engineering/technical/project-based environment
  • A strong blend of commercial and technical acumen 
  • Knowledge and experience of working to stringent technical quality standards
  • Ability to interrogate and challenge scheduling plans 
  • Ability to manage internal & external stakeholders working to tights deadlines
  • Educated to at least HNC in an appropriate technical or commercial subject
  • Able to communicate clearly with people at all levels, both internal and external stakeholders, including Senior Stakeholders
  • Self-motivated, flexible and can work under pressure on their own initiative
