Finance Analyst

Location: Newcastle (working from home for the foreseeable future)

Contract length: 3 months

Salary: £16.00 - £19.50 per hour

 

A well-known manufacturing company is looking for a Finance Analyst to join their team on a contract basis.

 

The team ensures that the financial reporting is compliant with the company’s Financial Reporting Guidelines, and prepares regular financial reports and forecasts to ensure management has sufficient transparency to support decision making.

Key responsibilities:

• Providing support and interpretation of financial information to business colleagues to enhance decision making
• Preparation of monthly management reports
• Operation of financial controls to support business requirements, e.g. Balance Sheet reconciliations
• Support the preparation of Budgets and Forecasts
• Prepare information to respond to Auditor requests
• Work to improve financial processes delivering improved reporting timescales and controls
• Review and prepare journal requests and monthly billing activities
• Support with budget control of spends and challenge variances
• Ownership of month end close process and forecast submissions
• Preparation of monthly financial reports for cost centre analysis

 

Key Skills:

• Good knowledge of reporting, budgeting and forecasting principles and processes.
• Able to present information in a clear manner to non-finance staff (verbal & written)
• Recently qualified or part qualified accountant (CIMA, ACA, ACCA)
• Experience of working in a financial/commercial role. 
• Excellent IT skills, Microsoft Office, SAP knowledge is a plus
• Advanced knowledge of Excel 
• Knowledge of Power BI is desirable
