Job title: Senior Finance Manager 

Location/remote: Hammersmith/Reading 2 days a week on site

Contract length: 6 Months initially 

Pay rate: £430-£550 paye/umbrella

Randstad Sourceright, a worldwide RPO & MSP Recruitment Services has an exciting opportunity for a temporary Senior Finance Manager to join one of the UKs leading telecommunications companies

The Technology Finance team plays a critical role in business partnering, reporting results, bringing insight, and controlling investment in Capex for the Technology Directorate in the business

 

This role focuses on the business partnering of operational teams, specifically focussing on the delivery of technological transformation across the CTO function to support the optimisation and futureproofing of our Fixed & Mobile networks.  

You will be bringing insight into the operational performance and the planning, and forecasting of the business to help shape the conversations with the relevant Executive team members and their Senior Leadership Team. 

 

Key responsibilities & accountabilities 

• Responsibility for month end duties which include reporting actuals vs forecasts, providing commentary for reporting purposes, monthly forecasting planning cycles
• Owning and tracking of several business cases, holding operational teams to account of monthly, quarterly and annual financial targets, providing clear opportunity and risk information to the FP&A team
• Implement and drive improvement projects across our Technology Finance team to improve finance processes, data, and insight and ways we work with operational teams
• Influencing the decision makers during prioritisation exercises. 
• Lead on budget preparation & long-term planning exercises for respective areas
• Ownership and tracking of KPIs & OKRs and feed in to central capital allocation & strategy teams where required
• Lead on post-investment reviews to apply to future appraisals
• Become a trusted advisor to key members of the senior Technology Finance team, giving confidence on the basis of preparation, accuracy of numbers and quality of narrative.

 

Key skills and experience:

 

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
• Experience in stakeholder-facing operational or commercial business partnering, and presenting at senior levels
• Effective communicator: able to convey financial data to diverse audiences with easy-to-understand narrative and recommendations
• Excellent team-working and interpersonal skills, building positive relationships across the business
• Business case tracking
• Experience of working in a high-pressure environment and adapting to change
• Experience of taking responsibility for a project and making change with end-to-end ownership
• Strong commercial awareness
• Strong knowledge of modelling and presenting tools (e.g., Excel, PowerPoint, Essbase).
• SLT experience
